Speech for 2015

Speech for 2015

In LH1 at Ormiston, we all have our Speech for 2015. The year 5s and 6s have to write a speech that has information and reasons on our topic. Did you know that we were able to choose our own topic that we were interested in. :) Happy face!!

The first thing we had to do was to think of a topic that interested us most and then we needed to write a interesting intro.

My topic was about Emotional Feelings. (my one was kind of based on Inside Out. If you don't know about the movie Inside Out, there is a kid named Riley and she has emotions in her head and even her parents have them)

The second thing we had to do was to write our whole speech which had to hook our listeners in and to have emotional words like, if you were writing about something sad, your listeners need to kind of like, feel sad too.

The third thing we had to do was to make sure it was 3 mins in time. The year 3s and 4s had to make sure it was 2 mins and the year 5s and 6s had to make sure it was 3 mins. The max was 2 mins and 50 seconds or 3 mins and 10 seconds.

The last few things we had to do was, to practice it and get a buddy to record it on a iPad. We then had to try to remember it off by heart or make Q cards.

And then on Week 5, we would be reading our speeches to our Hapu group. (our hapu group is for us that we started having on Term 2)

The first few would be the ones that really want to do it and then the rest of the 5s and 6s would go and then the year 3s and 4s would go. The rest of us would need to practice, practice and practice.

I was really wanting to do a Speech again but at my new school. I am really proud of everyone that has read their Speeches so far. There #oresome!!
