Things you will need:
1. Garden Lime (any brand will do, it just needs to be garden lime)
2. Water (tap water works best)
3. Bowls
4. Something to stir with (we chose a popsicle stick)
5. Food colouring (this depends if you want your rocks to have the colour of limestone)
6. Black paper
Lets do this:
1. First put some of the garden lime into the bowl and add tiny amounts of water to it and stir. It needs to be like dough where you could mold it.
2. Add some food colouring if you want to create a more suitable colour for your limestone.
3. When you have you 'limestone' dough, roll them into balls or put blobs of it onto the black paper and let your stones dry. This could take 1 whole day.
When your stones have dried, you could get some normal water or vinegar, pour it into a bowl or tall glass and drop your limestone into the liquid. Watch the stone and liquid react with each other.
HAVE FUN!!!!!!
This is a great and fun experiment to do with friends and family. Predict what will happen and them see if your prediction was right or wrong.
I hope you enjoyed this blog post. Try this experiment at home and see what others think of it. Until next time, I'll see you all on my next blog! Bye!!!!
Hi Jasmine
ReplyDeleteWow this is an amazing blog refletion i love the way you have done a different type of blog reflection and have done a recipe on the lime stone experiment. It is very easy to read because you have spaced it out and wrote down what you will need and the step by step process very clearly.
Maybe next time you could take pictures while you are making the limestone and add that

Hi Jasmine,
ReplyDeleteAs Mervlyn has clearly stated you have spaced out our paragraphs really well and it is more easier to read and e.t.c. It was a good idea to add the recipe in your blog but what about your reflection? How did things work out in the end? Did you get to finish it? Did your team collaborate well together? Was your hypothesis right or was it totally wrong?
I want to see you collaborating with your group!! I want to see you making the limestone balls.!! Please add pictures! 😘
