Narrative Assessment!!!!!!

How Could We All Be Safe Online?

In LH3, we have to look after our devices so the rest of Ormiston Primarys students could use them, but thats just one thing. How could we be safe online?

Here are some examples of how to be safe online. Trust me, you need to know all this!

1. Never share your password to ANYONE! Even your close friends. Someone might just log into your account and do something bad on it.

2. Never post a picture of home street sign or even your school logo on your uniform. That could be a big give away to anyone that has a smart brain.

3. Never show anyone personal information that contains your home address, phone number or even your real/full name! That could also be a big give away, and I'm pretty sure your parents won't be happy!

4. Don't read a email that someone you don't know sent to you. That could be very dangerous and could put you to harm.

5. At the end of your research, add, 'for kids'. That will come up with websites that are meant for kids.

You may be wondering, what does this have to do with part of my learning? Well, some of us had a workshop about how to write in our own words. We shared our learning to a buddy. While we were talking, we realized that we were explaining our learning in our own words.

The learning I got out of this was that, writing in your own words is better then copying and pasting from a website. You will also need this learning in collage which is good cause we are already learning it now.

We were also taking notes using our own words.

What I want to learn next is how I could write long sentences in my own words.

😮 I was pretty surprised on how much learning I got out of it!

Our Temple Trip!

The Last week, all of Ormiston Primary School visited the Fo Guang Shan temple. I was super fun.

The activities we did were:
We made a lous flower. Which is a flower that grows in muddy water.
We all got a tattoo that had the 4G and 3G
We got brownies and cured our thrist with some water
We also got to look at the art and learned how to meditate. It was SUPER silent with we did it.

3G:
Think Good Thoughts
Say Good Words
Do Goods Deeds

We went in groups to each activity. It was kind of sad being apart from my friends but I still had fun with the rest of my group. Go group 5!

Here is a picture of what the temple looks like. Its pretty cool!

Goal Your Learning!

What:
This week, we all went swimming. It's every Monday from now on! It was super fun and I really enjoyed teaching others and myself this week Monday.

So What:
I learned so much and if you were all wonder, what was the purpose? Well, what if we couldn't swim. Learning how to swimming is important because we could live if we were out at sea because we know how to swim!!

I learned how to kick in the water and how to do my free style. I also learned how to glide with the help of a board to keep my balance.

Now What:
I want to learn how to:
1. Learn how to hold my breath for longer
2. Learn how to kick my feet in the water for longer
3. Learn how to do my free styles better

I want to explore how the Otara Pool and Leisure Centre community began?!

Own Your Learning!!

Hi everyone! Today is yet another reflection.

WHAT:
I have been doing my geometry challenge and had just finished writing all of my explanations in my book. The next thing we have to do is make a book using 10 chosen words from the list of geometry words.

Another thing I've done this week is, since it's NZSL week, we have been doing activities. I was in charge of the bing-go and NZSL conversation. It was pretty #oresome to see all of our learners signing.

SO WHAT:
This week was NZSL week which is also known as sign language week. We did this because it was part of sign language and we would also like to see our students signing to each other. We all know a bit of sign language. Most of us know heaps like Ash and Aleena.

The learning I got out of this was learning how to sign and be able to talk to our deaf learners.

WHAT NOW:
The things I still need to complete with my geometry challenge is my book.

I want to explore the world of sign language and how people founded out that it existed. I also want to learn how to sign more.

Term 2 Reflection!

Hi everyone!

What:
The first day of school felt normal for me. I was excited to see Ms Pearsen and Mrs Jensen and also my friends.

We talked about what would be happening throug the week and some things that were new around our learning area.

Through the rest of the week we started doing some #oresome things. We did a Anzac challenge and so we had to do 4 good quality activities. We practiced for cross country (which also means we ran and ran and ran!) We also started doing a geometry. I had to find out what the geometry related words meant and then I would have to choose 10 words to create a book for the little ones.

 So what:
I think the purpose of these activities was to challenge us and see what level high work quality we could do.

The learning I got out of the Anzac challenge was to challenge myself and learn a lot mroe about Anzac day.

The learning I got out our geometry work was, understanding the keywords of geometry so in our future we wouldn't get confused and we would know the answer right away if someone asked us.

Now what:
For my Anzac challenge, what I want to learn out of that is how productive these challenges actually are.

For my geometry work, i want to know more different shapes and the words that fit with it. I also want to see how many different geometry shapes and different words there are.
