Term 2 Reflection!

Hi everyone!

What:
The first day of school felt normal for me. I was excited to see Ms Pearsen and Mrs Jensen and also my friends.

We talked about what would be happening throug the week and some things that were new around our learning area.

Through the rest of the week we started doing some #oresome things. We did a Anzac challenge and so we had to do 4 good quality activities. We practiced for cross country (which also means we ran and ran and ran!) We also started doing a geometry. I had to find out what the geometry related words meant and then I would have to choose 10 words to create a book for the little ones.

 So what:
I think the purpose of these activities was to challenge us and see what level high work quality we could do.

The learning I got out of the Anzac challenge was to challenge myself and learn a lot mroe about Anzac day.

The learning I got out our geometry work was, understanding the keywords of geometry so in our future we wouldn't get confused and we would know the answer right away if someone asked us.

Now what:
For my Anzac challenge, what I want to learn out of that is how productive these challenges actually are.

For my geometry work, i want to know more different shapes and the words that fit with it. I also want to see how many different geometry shapes and different words there are.

ANZAC Reflection

Hi everyone!! ANZAC is coming up in the hoildays and we were asked, 'What does ANZAC mean to me?' A lot of people sometimes never celebrate Anzac day but I'm pretty sure people know what Anzac means to them.

Here is my reply:

What ANZAC means to me is blessing soldiers that died in the world war. It is the remember them and be thankful for what they went through. I would bake Anzac cookies with my family and I would also craft some paper poppys. Being grateful for your friends and family is important. A lot of familys have lost their relationship between the person they love and even though their gone, they still bless them and remember them.

Anything you make or bake could mean something to the people that went through war!

She always seems to mention me, which makes me HAPPY!

To Mrs Jensen and Ms Pearson:
You guys are awesome learning coaches. I had such a good term with you guys and I'm hoping it will continue on until the end of the year!

Welcome back! If you checked out my other term one reflection, then you know whats coming up! If you don't know, I'm listing some Pros and Cons of this term. Hope you enjoy!

Pros and Cons:

Pros:
1. I had good friends that cared about me and was very helpful!
2. I got good learning out of this term!
3. I had #oresome learning experiences with English, Maths, iExplore time and also iExperince time.
4. Mrs Jensen and Ms Pearson were #oresome this term and I'm hoping they would still be awesome next term as well.

Cons:
1. I found maths kind of hard! But i got through it!
2. Sometimes, I felt lonely because all of my friends had clubs, basketball or netball.
3. I didn't like p.e in the first place because I already knew what the rules were and how to play!
4. Meeting new learners were hard because, when they meet you, they follow you and ALWAYS count on YOU!

Hope you enjoyed those Pros and Cons about my term 1. Everyone has their own Pros and Cons about their first term.

End of Term 1 reflection!

Hi everyone! So you may already know, but, it is right now the last week of Term 1. I'm super excited for the hoildays. I sometimes find the hoildays kind of boring!

Here are some of my favourites things i've done during the term:

1. Meeting friends was scary for me. Even meeting new Learning Coaches.

2. Learning things that I've learned or heard about!

Here are some expectation vs realitys that I expected on the first day in Learning Habitat 3:

Expectation: Knowing that your friends would just run up to you and hug you!
Reality: Friends don't care!

Expectation: Getting new and awesome school supplies!
Reality: Mom is TOO busy!

Expectation: Getting to know your learning coaches right away!
Reality: Learning coaches don't notice us!

This is just my first words for Term 1. My next reflection would be about Pros and Cons!

Stay tuned! See ya!

This weeks AWESOME reflection!!

Welcome back to another weekly reflection. Todays topic is about SCIENCE🤓!!!!!

What: today i'll be talking about science. So today, i had science club. It was a lot of fun. We had to recap what we did last week. Anjli and I did the vinegar and baking soda balloon experiment.

Here is how to make this science experiment happen:
What you will need:
Balloons, baking soda, vinegar, little soda bottles

Steps:
1. First, fill your balloons up with baking soda. The way we founded easy was to full a cap up with baking soda and stretch the balloon over he top of the cap and then tip it unpside down!

2. Full your mini soda bottles a third or a quarter full of vinegar.

3. Stretch the balloon over the to of your soda bottle and them tip the balloon so the baking soda goes into the bottle. The baking soda and vinegar will react with eachother and create gas that will fill up the balloon.

So what: i choose to do this because I love science and its fun to see the cool experiment work. My favourite was the coke and mento even though i didn't do it, it looked and seemed fun.

Now what: what i would work on now with my experiment is to figure out what is the best amount of vinegar i should put into the bottle and also how much baking soda i put into the balloons.

Anjli and i tried one with heaps of vinegar and one with less vinegar. The one with less vinegar worked best. It blew up the balloon more than how we did it last time. The bottle with heaps of vinegar didn't work as well. I think it didn't work because insode the balloon, there was less baking soad than vineger. It only blew up just a tiny bit.
